Training Facilities

Located by the Mediterranean sea, Airways Aviation Academy – ESMA enjoys a perfect climate to fly, with 300 days of sunshine per year. Montpellier is currently the 8th French city in terms of population, and the 3rd Mediterranean city after Marseille and Nice. It’s the most populated city of the Herault Department and the second of the Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées region after Toulouse.

For the last 30 years, Montpellier has been very attractive for its quality of life, its culture, and the Mediterranean climate. Montpellier has one of the most important growth in France, in terms of economy and demography. With 70 000 students, it’s also the second city with the highest number of students per capita, and the 7th university pole in France. The social diversity is also applicable to ESMA, which is a rewarding experience for our students.

The campus

Located in the Montpellier Mediterranean Airport area, our premises has more than 7,630 sqm, divided into various areas:

Flight Simulators

We currently have 4 flight simulators used by our pilot students to simulate flights in all conditions during their training.

Cabin Crew Hall

Airways Aviation Academy – ESMA is certificated by the French Civil Aviation as Official Exam Center to offer the full CCA training, theoretical and practical  in Montpellier. We have the Scale model – B747 cabin; Scale models – ATR CRJ F100 – A320 – A340 / B747 doors and evacuation slide.


We have two workshops in our premises: PART 145 & 147. From our aircraft maintenance to the maintenance training dedicated workshop, discover a dedicated area full of educational tools.

Sports facilities

Discover our sports facilities in the Airways Aviation Academy – ESMA campus: soccer and basketball pitch, badminton hall, table tennis, aerocampus gym room. Take advantages of the wide panel of activities quickly accessible in the neighbouring communities of Lattes, Pérols and Mauguio.
