Course overview

Our 4 week Aviation Foundation Course is designed for those interested in working towards their European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) or Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) commercial aeroplane licence. This is an entry-level course, with little or no prior aviation experience required. Our tailored curriculum has been developed by industry professionals and provides a meaningful introduction to the theoretical and practical aspects of aviation. Graduates of this course will have the knowledge required to apply into EASA or CASA approved flight training with confidence.

Qualifications and study pathway

An Airways Aviation Foundation course is a pathway into formal study. Students who complete this foundation course can then choose to apply to undertake flight training with Airways Aviation. Airways Aviation offers EASA and CASA approved flight training courses in the France and Australia.

Course delivery and modules

In this course students will be introduced to aviation foundation and training components. Students will participate in class discussions, activities and workshops in an interactive and supportive learning environment.

The Aviation Foundation Course is delivered over 9 modules, each designed to develop student understanding in the following areas of aviation training:

  • Aviation English
  • Principal of flight
  • Aircraft general knowledge
  • Flight radio communication
  • Human factors
  • Meteorology
  • Air law and procedures
  • Navigation
  • Performance and planning
