based in Bilinga, QLD. Course certificate and/ or statement of attainment will be issued by TAFE Queensland.
Designed in conjunction with industry, the successful completion of this course will give you the knowledge and practical skills required to embark upon a career as a professional pilot. Pilots with a Commercial Pilot Licence work in a diverse range of industry sectors – from agriculture and tourism to aerial
surveillance and passenger transport.

This course includes both flight training and theory training – that means you will master the practical while engaged with the theoretical.

150 hour course option:

The integrated program is full time and covers both theory and flight training in-house.


You will complete a minimum of 150 hours flying which includes at least:

  • 70 hours as pilot in command (PIC)
  • 20 hours cross country as pilot in command (PIC)
  • 10 hours instrument flight time (IF)

Course must be completed within 2 years from course commencement.

  • aerodynamics
  • operations, performance and flight planning
  • aircraft general knowledge
  • navigation
  • meteorology
  • flight rules and air law
  • human factors

  • minimum 17 years of age upon enrolment, 18 years of age to sit a flight test
  • be in possession of, or be able to obtain a current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) for flight crew which includes a criminal history check
  • have an Aviation Reference Number (ARN)
  • hold a current Aviation Class 1 Medical
  • be eligible to obtain General English Language Proficiency (GELP) with CASA.
  • Successful completion and recommendation of the flight evaluation program with Airways Aviation
